Ingredients

  • 250 g ground beef

  • 200 g potatoes

  • 1 carrot

  • 1/2 onion

  • 50 g peas

  • 400 ml beef broth

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 200 ml water

Chef's tip: For a thicker stew, mash a few potato cubes against the side of the pot before adding the peas.

Chef's tip: If the stew becomes too thick, add a splash of hot water to loosen it.

Instructions

    Peel and dice the potatoes into 2 cm cubes. Peel and slice the carrots into 1 cm rounds. Finely chop the onion.

    Place the large pot over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

    Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the potatoes and carrots, cooking for 2 minutes.

    Pour in the beef broth and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.

    Stir in the peas and cook for 3 minutes until heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and black pepper if needed.
