Data deletion

You can permanently delete your Reciphy account and the personal data attached to it. This page also explains what to do if your request involves Facebook or Instagram.

Delete a Reciphy account

  1. Sign in to Reciphy with the Google account used to create your account.
  2. Open Account settings and choose Delete account.
  3. Review the consequences, enter your full account email and type DELETE.
  4. Submit the form. Reciphy verifies your active session and a session-bound security token before processing the request.

Account deletion is permanent. It cannot be undone, and deleted recipes cannot be recovered through Reciphy.

What is deleted

The self-service workflow removes the account from Reciphy's live database, including:

  • email address, Google sign-in identifier, account preferences, language, units and authentication sessions;
  • private prompts, ingredient input, chat messages, generated and saved recipes, nutrition calculations, ratings, reviews and private cooking notes;
  • Bite balances, reservations and usage history, bounty claims, legal-acceptance rows and account-attributed diagnostic records; and
  • direct account links in retained payment and administrative audit records.

Reciphy recipes are currently private to the account that created them; there is no public-recipe ownership transfer to preserve. They are therefore deleted rather than reassigned to another person.

What may be retained

Reciphy may retain only limited information when it is needed for accounting, payment integrity, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution or a legal obligation. The normal deletion process keeps transaction totals and payment/idempotency records needed to prevent duplicate fulfillment, but removes the Reciphy user ID, email, Stripe customer/subscription identifiers and stored event metadata from those retained application records. Administrative audit entries are retained without the deleted account's identity and request details.

Stripe and Google process information under their own retention rules. Residual copies may also remain in restricted disaster-recovery backups until those backups are retired; they are not available through the deleted Reciphy account. If law requires a longer hold, access is limited and the data is deleted or anonymized when the hold ends.

Processing time

A valid self-service request is applied immediately to the live Reciphy database and signs the browser out. If a recipe job is actively writing account data, deletion is paused and you can retry after that short-running job finishes. If a paid Stripe subscription is attached to the account, Reciphy first attempts to end it immediately; deletion does not continue if Stripe cannot confirm that action.

Requests sent by email are normally completed within 30 days after any necessary identity verification. Reciphy will tell you if applicable law permits or requires more time.

Facebook and Instagram requests

Reciphy's customer website currently supports Google sign-in only; it does not offer customer login with Facebook or Instagram. A Meta authorization is therefore not automatically linked to a Reciphy website account.

If you authorized a Reciphy Meta integration, first remove Reciphy from Facebook's Apps and Websites settings or Instagram's Apps and Websites / Website permissions settings. This revokes future API access. Then email the address below so locally held authorization credentials, connected-account identifiers, queued operations and attributable integration audit records can be identified and deleted or anonymized. Include the Facebook/Instagram account name or profile URL used for authorization, but never send a password or access token.

If you also have a Reciphy website account, use the self-service account workflow separately to delete its Google-authenticated account data.

Cannot use normal deletion?

If you cannot sign in, no longer control the Google account, need help with a Facebook/Instagram authorization, or need to exercise another privacy right, email:

[email protected]

Use the subject “Reciphy data deletion request” and identify the account by its email or relevant profile URL. Reciphy may ask for proportionate proof of account control before deleting data. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or access tokens.
